ok how you destroy a building that city will not let you destroy like a dept store

How is it not letting you destroy the building, do you get a message saying "... local authority refuses to allow this"?

If that's the case you need to increase your rating to that city. Over time it increases automatically to a certain point, beyond that you can either plant trees - lots of them - or build a couple of stations in the city and haul passengers between them, either by bus, tram or train. Doing so the rating will increase faster, and to that the city will grow. If I remember correctly the optimal number of stations is 5, more stations don't increase the speed in which the rating increases.

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention. You can see your rating to the town by clicking on the town name, then select Local authority. If the rating is Mediocre or lower (Poor, Very Poor, Appalling) you're won't be able to destroy anything in the city - well at least not buildings, roads might be OK. If the rating is low you might even get problems building stations and that can be a real pain.

Presuming you are running OTTD, press Ctrl+Alt+C and select the "Magic Bulldozer" cheat.

Yeah that's an option too, but I don't like cheating so I didn't mention it

thanks for the help

only if the cheat gets rid of the industries i don't want that are in the way of where i wanna build

and i figured out that to get rid of a pesky building in town is cut it off fro- roads

ok car need repairs and now y keyboard decided to check out

ctrl+alt+delete with a sledgehammer should remove the keyboard.
