Once the UK is fully completed with all industrys and tiwns connected I will start on France and get the channel tunnel (bridge) to connect london, lille, brussels and paris with the Eurostar from St Pancras International london. may have to use kings cross instead as ill have no city left with all the stations placed in it lol.

Quote: Can't imagine what it is to play with these larger maps, but I can imagine... And this city could do with a "Tower Bridge"... could do which loads of landmarks. millenium dome, tower bridge, houses of parliment, london eye (which i know you have) buckingham palace. id like a brown version of your church that i saw in a sceenshot it could easierly be made into Durham Cathedral where i live would look nice to make my home city too Your Church Attachment:

Like this very much Boohey, I am also working on a similar scenario, although on a much larger scale. Mine is currently 3 years in the making and im doing lots of research atm, I originally planned to build it as it is now in 2012, but deemed that too much to try and place onto a map all in one year, so to be more thorough and ensure correctness, I'm going to start in 1812 and build from there following an accurate timeline to the end result.

sounds amazing well ill crack on with this map at the moment but id love to have a larger UK map with the europe bit removed, i think the map im using is still to small and its max size. would love to try your map when its done. only thing im finding annoying and there is no way round it is that most uk stations are curved which is handy if you are lacking space. always wanted a map that was detailed round my area most are just flat here is a pic durham viaduct that goes over durham then into the station its an awesome view on a train http://www.geolocation.ws/v/I/5655300401103603329-5655301539454661714/the-railway-viaduct-/en

My map is 4182 x 4182 and uses a heightmap produced by myself, therefore you won't find the gamefile my scenario is based on anywhere else

Quote: heightmap produced by myself i tried using some programmes and geo data (think it was US navy Survey Data) but the maps where to flat or to high at the coast looked proper daft. tried lightening it and darkening it on photoshop it was still shite. do you need to mod the game code to get them size maps

I'm sorry i let the cathedral slip me by while pleasuring my own ego, I must say, that is a very clean recolouring and adaptation of existing sprites, I would almost think that SAC redrew it himself!

its all her work lol i did nothing to it all i did was use "selective colour" tool changed the gray/blue to brown and just selected round the back of the church copied it and dragged it to make it longer. took seconds. nothing really, SAC's skills are way to advanced for me to make this church of hers from scratch. was just to show how easy it would be to make it into durham cathedral Quote: The church thing do sounds interesting. May look at it once I'm done with those stations I'm working on now... would be great if you could must cities in the UK have cathedrals pretty much like durhams. its an old building. started construction in 1093 took 40 years. impressive for munks Quote: I use a version of stable with daylength and extra large maps patches. im wanting longer days on TTD and larger maps ill have to find this version you have.

Sorry SAC (I have a habit of dissassociating online people with genders due to them not having gender specific tag names, but I am in fact aware that SAC is a she and therefore am duely ashamed of myself )

Instead of the "signs" to stop towns building on reserved areas you could use the Fenses GRF, which looks much nicer IMO Attachment:

the GRF is VAST + fences IIIRC
