TwilightBB vs. TwibrightBB...
Since the introduction of the brighter alternative to our dark TwilightBB theme, the TwibrightBB theme, only 11 members of out nearly 900 have chosen to use the latter, showing that a vast majority of our members prefer the original theme.
As a result we are therefor considering a removal of the TwibrightBB theme altogether. The reasons are several, but mainly it's a question about site maintenance. Any change being addressed requires twice as much work to be completed, and for the same reasons we are also considering a removal of the German language pack transforming Simuscape into a clean international site using English only.

QuickLinks...
Previous layout with two sections of links, one below the header and another one above the ads have been reduced to one, located below the header! This QuickLink section is divided in three;
¤ 1st - QuickLinks to User Controls ¤ 2nd - QuickLinks to Site Features ¤ 3rd - QuickLinks to External Sites

Header...
We are reducing the size of Simuscape's header versions, (different design for different forum sections), in order to prepare for some improvements and additional features to be implemented soon. And at the same time we are also doing a general overhaul of the design itself, focusing on our 5, (five), forum sections and their resp. visual appearances....

Comments? Personally, I use the dark TwilightBB but I have to ask ... How many of the remaining 889 members are actually aware of the availability of the TwibrightBB option? Quote: QuickLinks... ... Comments? Much better. Quote: Header...

About the themes, to add to wallyweb's nice thoughts:
Can you provide statistics as to how much browsing time corresponds to each theme?

Upon registration members are offered the option to chose board style, and there is also a note about these two styles available HERE! athanasios wrote: Can you provide statistics as to how much browsing time corresponds to each theme? Unfortunately phpBB doesn't offer any specific statistics referring to browsing time/theme. At least two users of TwibrightBB are related to Team Simuscape, so the actual number of users are in fact 10 out of 893 as of this date and time. With this in mind it doesn't justify the work and time required to maintain two different themes! wallyweb wrote: Previews before we comment? All pages have received new headers, (incl. some that didn't have custom headers), and there are still some issues to solve regarding the QuickLinks!

Since there hasn't been any further opinions referring to the previously suggested changes, (see first post for details), Team Simuscape is announcing that the brighter version of our Simuscape design along with the German language pack, will be removed from our system on August 1st 2013.
These changes will result in only one theme available to maintain, as well as only one language, (English), in use for all forum members!

The Transport Tycoon Hall of Fame Step 2 in our project to transform and extend our Simuscape services has been completed. This time it's the Transport Tycoon Hall of Fame that has been appointed a separate section which includes information and descriptions along with the Hall of Fame chambers. With the events scheduled for 2014 only announcements will be published inside this News & Feedback section, and as a result all previously posted Hall of Fame announcements have been moved from the TTDP General section to this News & Feedback section! The Donation Section Step 3 in our project to transform and extend our Simuscape services has been completed. As a result you will find the Donation Section in its own appointed place with anything you need to know if considering a donation to the upkeep of Simuscape services! This also means that the Donation Category has been removed from SimuTalk forums! Simuscape Team
